La Gazette originally Gazette de France, was the first weekly magazine published in France.

It was founded by Théophraste Renaudot and published its first edition on 30 May 1631.

On May 30, 1913, a peace treaty was signed ending the First Balkan War, in which the newly aligned Slavic nations of Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria and Greece had driven Turkish forces out of Macedonia, a territory of the Ottoman Empire located in the tumultuous Balkans region of southeastern Europe.

Udant Martand, The Rising Sun was the first Hindi newspaper was published in Calcutta on May 30Th 1826.

The editor of this first newspaper was Pandit Shridhar Shukla.

This day is celebrated as the “Hindi Journalism Day”, or ” Hindi Patrakarita Diwas ” as it marked the beginning to journalism in Hindi language.

The first ever injury caused by road accident, when a motorcar collided with bicycle, was reported in New York City, US on this day in the year 1896.

Followed a few months later by the first fatality, a pedestrian in London.
