Businesses across India have suffered a great deal due to coronavirus-induced lockdown.

To support families financially amid crisis, women in Aligarh decided to stitch masks in their homes.

"My husband works in clothing shop, however due to lockdown it has been closed.

Due to no income, I have taken the work to stitch masks and earn living," said Gunjan Varshney.

The step taken by women is not only helping them earn bread but also making them self-reliant.

"This is making us 'atmanirbhar' as well," she added.

Another woman, Neeru Varshney who is stitching masks during times of uncertainty said that she is running household through her earnings as her husband is not going to work after government directed businesses to remain shut.
