COVID-19: Positive cases to cross 5.5 lakh mark in India

COVID-19 cases continue to speed up in the country.

In the last 24 hours 19,459 people tested positive for novel coronavirus and 380 people lost the battle in the fight against the virus.

Positive cases in India stand at 5,48,318, of which 2,10,120 are active along with 16,475 deaths.

So far, 3,21,723 people have been cured/discharged/migrated in the country.

In the last 24 hours, 21 more Border Security Force personnel have also tested positive for COVID-19 and 18 have recovered.

There are 305 active cases and 655 personnel have recovered till date in the BSF.

Total number of samples tested in the country reaches 83,98,362.

Indian Council of Medical Research reported testing of 1,70,560 samples on June 28.

COVID-19: India reports the highest single-day spike of 24,850 new cases

On July 05, India reported the highest single-day spike of 24,850 new COVID-19 cases and 613 deaths in the last 24 hours. As of now, positive cases stand at 6,73,165 including 2,44,814 active cases, 4,09,083 cured/discharged/migrated and 19,268 deaths. Maharashtra being the worst affected state recorded over 2 lakh confirmed cases. According to Ministry of Health, total confirmed cases in Maharashtra is 2,00,064. According to Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the total number of samples tested up to July 4 is 97,89,066 of which 2,48,934 samples were tested on July 04.
