Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level virtual meeting with Chief Ministers and Health Ministers of seven COVID-19 high burden (States/UT Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Punjab) to review response and management. While addressing in the meeting, PM Modi said, "There are more than 700 districts in the country but only 60 districts in 7 states are a cause of worry." "I suggest CMs to hold virtual conference with people at district/block level for 7 days. We have to learn from the best practices from across the states," PM Modi added.
A cop was attacked by a bull in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal. The cop, on his motorcycle, was attacked while he was on his way to the police station. A buffalo attacked a police officer at a police station premises in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal on August 30. The buffalo entered police station and started damaging the vehicles. When a police officer entered police station premises on his bike, the buffalo attacked him. Other police officials diverted the buffalo's attention by shouting and saved the life of the police officer.
Two bike-borne assailants fired upon a businessman and his son in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal on July 30. Incident took place at the time when both were returning from their shop in Chandausi. According to the police, the businessman died at the spot. Former Union Minister and Bihar leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh passed away on Sept 13. Singh, 74, died at AIIMS in Delhi. Singh had fallen critically ill on Sept 11 and was put on a ventilator in ICU. Earlier in June he had tested Covid positive and was admitted at AIIMS Patna. He was taken to AIIMS in the national capital recently following post Covid-19 complications. Raghuvansh Prasad Singh was known as the architect of MGNREGA. The senior leader had resigned from the RJD on September 10. According to his close aide, his body will be taken to Patna for the last rites. Watch the full video.
