Live music figure calls for more support for venues
An independent live music figurehead has warned many people in his industry 'will be looking for other jobs' by January unless more Government financial support or a return to unrestricted gigs and concerts is forthcoming.
Adam Regan, director of the famous Hare & Hounds pub in Kings Heath, Birmingham, has kept the venue shut for the time being because around 80% of its income is from gigs and club nights.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on September 25 hit out at Central government's new agriculture reform bills and said that Central Government has made our 'annadaata' (farmers) a puppet through its 'fund daata' (corporate). "Government has made our 'annadaata' a puppet through its 'fund daata'. Farm bills are anti-farmer and have left them dejected. Govt had said that they will double farmers' income by 2022 but these bills will make them poorer. Agriculture sector has been corporatized," said Yadav during farm bill protest.

Congress Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad on September 22 said that the party will boycott Parliament sessions until the government will not accept their demands which is to bring another bill. Through the bill, opposition demanded for fixing MSP under formula recommended by Swaminathan Commission along with this, they also demanded that government agencies like FCI should not buy crops below MSP. Azad said, "We will boycott Parliament session until Government accepts our 3 demands, government to bring another bill under which no private player can purchase below MSP, MSP to be fixed under formula recommended by Swaminathan Commission and Government agencies like FCI shouldn't buy crops below MSP."
New restrictions have been imposed on Birmingham, Solihull and Sandwell following a spike of Covid-19 cases in the area. A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and seven counts ofattempted murder following a string of knife attacks in Birmingham. WestMidlands Police said the suspect remains in custody after he was arrested ataround 4am on Monday at an address in Selly Oak.
