Community react to the arrest of a suspect for the death of a mother and her 8 year old daughter.

Chattanooga police have identified the remains found off greenwood road on july 9-th.

They are those of two people who were reported missing in may.

Earlier this afternoon authorities say the suspect involved was arrested in knoxville.

What we know is that gabriel boykins was taken into custody shortly before noon today and is facing several charges including multiple homicides.

Tamara church and her daughter aquarious bodies were found in this nearby wooded area near this church.

After speaking to nearby resident, and some who attend this church, it's believed that tamara and her daughter do not live in this nearby area nor did they attend this church.

Here's the latest on this investigation.

Gabriel boykins has been charged and arrested with two counts of homicide and two counts of abuse of a corpse.

Chattanooga police say he is a suspect in connection to the deaths of tamara church and her daughter aquarious.

The mother and daughter's family reported the two missing on may 19th and from there the homicide unit distributed the missing persons posted to the public.

Nearly two months later on july 9th, tamara and her daughter's remains were found.

One nearby resident, paulette lewis, has lived on greenwood road since 2002.

Lewis says she has noticed unusual activity in the past.

"this particular area up here especially on the side of my house it was woods and trees.

Drug addicts they used to sleep there.

They did their drug stuff for years.

It took about 7 years for us to get it as clean as it is rightn now."

Arrest warrants were then issued for boykins who was found and taken in custody in knoxville thursday afternoon.

Boykins is being held at the knox county jail until a later date.

Chattanooga police say the investigation is still on going.

Again we are uncertain what relationship the church family or boykins has with the area.

We are also working to find out the motive behind the suspect if court ruling finds boykins at fault of the double homicide.

News 12 reached out a friend of tamara and her daughter online but were unsuccessful.
