Great American Irish Festival canceled

The annual Great American Irish Festival has been officially canceled.

The festival board says it is expected to resume the event in 2021.

Is a big one.

Directors of the great american irish fest have canceled this year's festival....and....the utica st.

Patrick's day parade, which they also oversee.

The festival was originally moved from late july, to september.

While no one wanted it to come to this, they say it wasn't a difficult decision....because it wasn't really theirs.

You can't actually obtain one at the moment.

So, it was really an easy decision like i said" they're hoping next year will happen smoothly....irish fest, in september on varick street and in some of the venues there.

Still deciding if this year's parade grand marshall will hold on to the shileiliegh till next year, pass it, or, share it with a new, 2021 grand marshall.
