Odisha floods: 18-yr-old rescued hours after being stranded on a tree

An 18-yr-old boy was rescued by a team of Rasulpur fire station hours after being stranded on a tree amid floods in Odisha.

The incident occurred in Keshapur village in Rasulpur block of Jajpur district.

Chandan Behera was swept away while crossing the Brahmani river.

Chandan, however, managed to hold on to a palm tree.

The Rasulpur fire station team rescued him despite poor visibility.

According to Sukanta Sethi, Chief Fire Officer, Odisha, Chandan Behera is a resident of Khandas village.

The search and rescue operation was carried out after he went missing started at 9 pm yesterday.

Odisha fire team services are working relentlessly in flood-hit areas.

Around 1.5 lakh people have been affected in 543 villages of Odishaโ€™s Bhadrak district, as per the government.
