New information -- the u-s army aviation and missile command anounced this year's civilian of the year.

But -- the ceremony looked a little different this year due to coronavirus.

For the first time -- the event at redstone arsenal was live streamed over facebook-- all to keep people safe.

A few people gathered for the announcement of the new civilian of the year-- donald nitty.

Nitty works on logistic projects for the army.

The award is presented every year to someone who is a leader and who defends the consitution.

"this award is great, but our real mission is taking care of the army, taking care of the soldiers and making sure we are prepared to fight and win our nations wars."
