Bars and restaurants can now serve alcohol past 11 p-m!

The state alcoholic beverage control board made the change during an emergency meeting today.

Waay 31's casey albrittion is live in downtown huntsville with the new rules for alcohol sales.

Bars are required to limit capacity to 50%... and social distancing should still be enforced.

The board says six feet should be maintained between groups of people.

Masks are required unless, eating, drinking or sitting at a table.

The abc board also said bar owners should designate an area for a line people can get in to order drinks so people don't crowd around the bar area.

The board says law enforcement will be checking on bars... and for any locations that are violating the new order, a first offense will get a warning and a second offense could result in suspension of a liquor license.

The board says the new order goes into effect today... live in huntsville, casey albritton, waay 31 news.
