Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and other politicos pay tribute to Ram Vilas Paswan

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Ram Vilas Paswan at his residence in Delhi.

Communist Party of India (CPI) general secretary D Raja, BJP MP Pragya Thakur and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar paid their last respect to Ram Vilas Paswan at the latter's residence.

President of Republican Party of India (RPI) Ramdas Athawale, MoS Dr Jitendra Singh and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor also paid their tribute to Paswan.

The mortal remains of Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) founder leader Ram Vilas Paswan was being taken to his residence from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on October 09.

Paswan passed away at the age of 74 on October 08.

He recently underwent heart surgery in Delhi.

He has served as the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution in Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government.

His son Chirag Paswan broke the news on his twitter account.

The Home Minister paid tribute at National Police Memorial on Police Commemoration Day. "My tributes to police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty. So far, 35,398 police personnel have lost their lives in the line of duty. Names of all those police personnel are marked here at the wall. This memorial is not just made of bricks and cement. This memorial remembers the martyrdom of our soldiers. We salute the martyrdom of brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives," he said. The police memorial in the national capital is spread over 6.12 acres. It has a 30-foot tall heavy black granite central sculpture and a museum and 'Wall of Valour' bearing names of police personnel who died on duty. The Police Commemoration Day is observed every year on October 21. The day is observed in memory of CRPF jawans who died in Ladakh while fighting Chinese troops on this day in 1959.

The food is being distributed with precaution following all the safety guidelines among the Rohingyas. Speaking to ANI, owner of 'Josh-The High Energy Bar' and 'The Market Place', Shivam Sehgal said "The festival is just another reason for me to spread happiness and you know blessings from these poor people can never be enough. I do this a few times a year. I am in the hospitality industry for almost five years and this helps me with doing this all the more." Rohingya refugee Mohd Shirajullah said there are more facilities in India than Burma. He said, "People here help us a lot, whether it is with food or shelter. Amid the coronavirus pandemic, people have been helping us with food, oil, soaps and shampoos right from the time of the lockdown." Another refugee said that they have no problem here. He added, "Government has made all the arrangements. We are thankful that India is helping us." Serving the refugees during festivities of India is a wonderful act by these people. India certainly need more people like them.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh laid foundation stone for Nechiphu Tunnel on road to Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh via video conferencing. Defence Minister also inaugurated 44 bridges on October 12 made by Border Roads Organisation (BRO) across seven States/Union Territories, via video-conferencing. Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Bipin Rawat, Indian Army chief MM Naravane and MoS Dr Jitendra Singh were present on the occasion. Addressing the event, Rajnath said, "The construction of these bridges will facilitate military and civil transport in our western, northern and north-east areas." "Even during the lockdown period, BRO continued operations in the North-Eastern states, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. BRO continued its work ensuring that snow clearance is not delayed at remote locations," he further stated. Last week, the Defence Minister had said that the strategically important Atal Tunnel is dedicated to the armed forces protecting India's borders and those living in the remote terrains."I do not need to explain the importance of this tunnel. Its strategic importance is understood by everyone. It will ensure speedy and faster transportation of rations, weapons and other logistics. It will also help in faster deployment of personnel. Situated on the border of two nations, it is dedicated to those protecting our borders, and those who live in those areas," Singh said at the inaugural ceremony in Manali.
