Does not seem to be effective.

"the corona-virus" could erase "years" of progress for working women.

That's according to a new study.

A new study shows 1-in-4 women are leaving their careers or the workforce due to "covid-19."

News 10's jordan kudisch wanted to know how this is impacting local moms... she's in our newsroom with one woman's story.

Jon..

Alia..

I spoke with amanda walls.

She's a mother of 3..

With one on the way.

And when covid came crashing down... so did her life at home.

"i just feel like i'm going to be strong for my kids and i'm going to show them, you know you got to work for a living and if you don't do this, we don't have anything, it's not a choice for me not to work."

"walls" is currently "9" months pregnant.

Despite the scares the "virus" brings..

She's worked the entire pandemic.

And in order to keep up with bills... she's taken on two jobs.

She says the pressure of working plus taking on the role as "teacher" for virtual learning..

Has been far from easy.

She is one of many women in the valley feeling this way.

I put a post on our facebook page "asking you" if this was something you were dealing with..

And in a matter of hours i heard back from more than "9" mothers.

"walls" says..

The isolation..

Over exhaustion from work..

And lack of child care options..

Is a recipe for disaster.

But..

She says there is something she wants struggling mothers to know.

I'll tell you what she has to say..

Coming up..

I n the next 30 minutes.

Many parents are forced to take on more at home..

Leaving them to leave their careers... to be at home full time.

For "amanda walls"..

She's working..

Pregnant..

And taking on the role as teacher for virtual learning.

In an one-on-one interview--she told me that since the pandemic hit..

Her life at home has changed dramatically.

As a new wave of "layoffs" continues..

Studies show-- women are taking on "too" much at home..

To do the same at work.

A report from the labor department says that participation..

In the labor force..

For women between the ages of 25 to 54 dropped of by 74 percent.

"walls" says to stay hopeful even when times are uncertain.

"because we're not all the same, what's best for me may not be best for the next mother.

Just do what's best for you and your family, that's all you can do."
