Mohali NGO creates idols, earthen lamps using cow dung as Diwali nears

As the festival of Diwali is approaching, an NGO in Mohali, Gauri Shankar Sewa Dal started making idols and earthen lamps out of cow dung.

Ramesh Sharma, its Director said, "We have 1000 cows each in our cowsheds in Chandigarh and Mohali.

We decided to utilise the cow dung and used to make sticks and flower pots.

We don't intend to sell these idols.

People come to us and take them.

If they want to pay we ask them to feed cows with the amount."
