Local councils across the UK have begun to implement low-traffic neighbourhood(LTN) schemes, with aims of lowering the amount of vehicle use, and thereforeaccidents, noise and pollution.

It comes as the Government, back in May,announced a £2 billion package to boost greener, active transport.

Statutoryguidance was fast tracked, allowing councils to reallocate roadspace tocyclists and pedestrians.

Some roads have been fully pedestrianised andparking places have been removed, while others only allow certain vehicles touse certain roads with fines put in place if rules are broken.
