Congress has clarified that All India Mahila Congress president Sushmita Dev has not resigned from the party. Speaking on the reports of her resignation, Congress leader and Member of Parliament, Pradyut Bordoloi said that Sushmita Dev is indispensable part of Congress and very much with us. "She is very much with us. She is a very indispensable part of Congress. She is respected leader of our party," said Congress Member of Parliament Bordoloi.
The National Handloom Expo (NHE) commenced on March 5 at Urban Haat in Dimapur. To promote weavers and handicrafts, National Handloom Expo is being organized by the Directorate of Handloom and Textiles, Government of Assam, sponsored by Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textile, Government of India. More than 40 stalls from the northeast states of Assam, Nagaland, and Manipur have been set up at the exhibition. The 14-day exhibition will culminate on March 18.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi "guaranteed" not to implement CAA in Assam during a rally in Tezpur on March 02. "When our party comes into power, a law will be enacted to ensure that CAA is not implemented here. 200 units of electricity will be given free of cost every month. We will provide Rs 2,000 per month to all the housewives as 'grihini samman'. The woman working in tea gardens will be provided Rs 365 per day. We will create 5 lakhs new government jobs. These are not promises but guarantee," said Gandhi.
Passionate about water conservation and nature, Mayur Shah said that he was speechless when Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted his comment during Mann Ki Baat on February 28. Mayur Shah said, "My first reaction was my jaw dropped, I was speechless. We are ardent listener of Mann Ki Baat but never in the dream had we thought that he will pick and highlight what I wrote. We feel extremely blessed." Mayur had requested Prime Minister to highlight and appreciate people of Assam. Mayur said, "I had requested PM to use his platform and congratulate people of Assam for water conservation efforts in Kaziranga that has led to growth in waterfowls there, it is helping lot of migratory birds."
An adult male rhino was immobilised and shifted to Assam State Zoo in Guwahati on January 19. Rhino had strayed out of the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve (KNPTR) on January 16. It was spotted in Bamunipam and was successfully guided inside the park.
A rhinoceros was spotted in a residential area in Assam on January 16. The rhinoceros had entered a residential area of Kaliabor in Nagaon district. The rhinoceros is suspected to have strayed out from Kaziranga National Park. Its presence in the residential area created unrest among the residents, as per reports. More details are awaited.
