PM Modi suggests courses related to branding and marketing of local products, skill development
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended celebration of Centennial Foundation Day of University of Lucknow via video conferencing on November 25 where he suggested introduction of courses related to local products at the university.
"Why should not the university do an analysis of local skills, courses related to local products, and skill development in districts that fall under its academic limits?
The university can do research on local products and modern solutions needed for value addition.
Branding, marketing, and strategies related to the management of the local products can be part of your course," said PM Modi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday announced the launch of Rs 1,000-crore 'Startup India Seed Fund' to support startups and help budding entrepreneurs pursue innovative ideas. Addressing the 'Prarambh: Startup India International Summit', Modi exuded confidence that the growth of startups will help in generating jobs and improving lives of people in the region. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed 'Prarambh: Startup India International Summit' on January 16. PM Modi interacted with the start-ups during the address. PM Modi said that India is one of the biggest start-up ecosystems in the world, and country's start-ups are changing the demographic character of business. He further informed that over 41,000 start-ups are currently engaged in work. "India is one of the biggest start-up ecosystems in the world. More than 41,000 start-ups including nearly 5,700 start-ups in IT sector, 3,600 in the health sector and 1,700 start-ups in agriculture are engaged in work. These start-ups are changing the demographic character of business. Earlier, on hearing about a start-up people used to ask 'why don't you do a job?'. But now people say why not create a start up instead of doing a job," said PM Modi during his virtual address.
At least 1,65,714 healthcare beneficiaries received COVID-19 jab on Saturday across India, marking it as a historic and biggest COVID-19 vaccination drive launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. About 16,755 total vaccinators involved across India during the COVID vaccination drive. There was no post adverse event reported after the vaccination was administered to the people. "Total vaccinators involved across India were 16,755. Total beneficiaries vaccinated across India--1,65,714. COVID19 vaccination drive was successful on Day 1. No case of post-vaccination hospitalisation reported so far," said Manohar Agnani, Additional Secretary of Union Health Ministry. "The Serum Institute of India (SII) produced COVISHIELD was supplied to all States and Union Territories (UT). Bharat Biotech's COVAXIN was supplied to 12 States. Lucknow University launched Karmayogi Scheme which offers students to do part-time jobs on the campus. "Under the scheme, a student would be allowed to work for maximum 2 hrs a day for maximum 50 days in an academic session. They will be paid Rs 150 per hour," said VC AK Rai.
