Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan on February 27 recorded his statement at the office of Crime Branch in Mumbai in connection with the 2016 complaint in fake email ID case involving Kangana Ranaut. He was summoned by Mumbai Police Crime Branch unit to record his statement regarding the case. Hrithik and Kangana also had a brawl on social media in 2016 when the latter termed Roshan as her "silly ex", following which she got a legal notice from him. Later, Hrithik filed a police complaint alleging someone was impersonating him and sent emails to Kangana between 2013 and 2014.
Hrithik Roshan visited Mumbai Police's Crime Branch office on Saturday to record statement. This is in connection with his 2016 complaint on fake emails in his name to Kangana Ranaut. The actor, who was summoned to appear at 11 am, left his residence in black tee and cap. Hrithik had been asked to visit the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) at commissioner's office. Hrithik's complaint alleged that someone was emailing Kangana from a bogus ID in his name. The complaint was followed by a spat between the two Bollywood actors. Hrithik had accused Kangana of harassing him by sending him hundreds of emails. After an initial probe, police concluded that the emails were sent from Kangana's ID. Police had recorded statement of Kangana who denied sending emails to Hrithik. In December last year, Hrithik's lawyer had approached Mumbai police commissioner. The probe was then transferred from Mumbai Police's Cyber Cell to Crime Branch's CIU. Hrithik and Kangana had worked together in Kites (2010) and then Krrish 3 (2013).

As envoys from 24 nations are visiting Jammu and Kashmir to take stock of the situation in the region, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has mocked the visit. Shiv Sena Member of Parliament (MP) Sanjay Raut, while reacting to visit of foreign envoys to J-K, said that the delegation should also visit borders of national capital, where farmers are protesting against three new farm laws, to know more about democracy. "There is democracy on papers in Jammu and Kashmir but there is no democracy at Ghazipur border (Delhi-UP border). I welcome the foreign delegation that they have found 'darshan' of democracy in J-K. Varavara Rao, the 81-year-old poet-activist who has been in jail for over two years in the Koregaon-Bhima case, was granted bail for six months by the Bombay High Court today on medical grounds. He is currently undergoing treatment at Mumbai's Nanavati Hospital where was admitted by the Maharashtra government following the high court's intervention. Rao has been asked by the court to remain in Mumbai and be available for investigation whenever needed.

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut reached the Bandra police station on Jan 8 to record her statement in a case related to sedition and other charges. Ranaut, who has been provided Y-plus category security of CRPF personnel, arrived at the police station in suburban Mumbai around 1 pm along with her advocate amid heavy media presence. The Bandra police had registered an FIR against Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel for allegedly promoting enmity between communities through their remarks in October. The FIR was registered following orders from a magistrates court in Bandra. A casting director and fitness trainer, had filed the complaint referring to tweets and other statements of Kangana and her sister. Earlier, the Mumbai police had sent notices three times asking them to appear for recording their statements in the case. The Bombay High Court in November had granted interim protection from arrest to Kangana and her sister, and directed them to appear before the police on January 8. Watch the full video for more.

Amid increasing cases of COVID-19 in the city, Mumbai Police have joined hands with Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to ensure that people follow COVID guidelines like, wearing face masks, maintaining social distancing. Maharashtra is seeing a rise in new COVID-19 infections. For the fourth consecutive day on Saturday, the state reported over 8,000 fresh infections. Maharashtra currently has 68810 active cases.
Mumbai Police on February 26 said that they have found a letter from the explosive-laden car that was found parked near the residence of industrialist Mukesh Ambani, but the content of the letter cannot be shared as investigation is underway. Mumbai Police PRO S Chaitanya said, "Some amount of Gelatin was found in the vehicle. The vehicle was seized by the Police. An offence registered under relevant sections of IPC and Explosive Substances Act. A letter was found in the vehicle but as investigation is in preliminary stage, so we can't share contents." The suspicious car was found near Antilia, the residence of Mukesh Ambani, on February 25. Later, the security was beefed up around the area.
While speaking to ANI in Bhubaneswar on February 27, the Health and Family Welfare Minister of Odisha, Naba Kisore Das spoke on rising cases of coronavirus pandemic. Kisore Das said, "Passengers arriving from Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh will undergo screening test at airport in Odisha.
