The Man Who Cried 'COVID' Pleads Guilty

An Atlanta man pleaded guilty to wire fraud related to a scheme to defraud his Fortune 500 employer.

The Justice Department announced Monday that Santwon Antionio Davis submitted a fake medical letter claiming he'd contracted COVID-19.

According to Business Insider, federal authorities say Davis cost the company more than $100,000 when it closed its Atlanta facility for cleaning.

Davis had previously lied to the company about the death of his child to receive company benefits.
