PM: Test and Trace played important part in pandemic
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has defended the Covid Test and Trace system, insisting it had conducted 56 million tests - "the highest in Europe".
He said without the system, the government would not know some of the vital information about the South African variant due to the genomics of Test and Trace.
