Nagaland hosts Special Handloom Expo to promote local weavers

In a bid to promote tribal handloom products, a special handloom expo, Sekrenyi is under the North East Region Textile Promotion Scheme (NERTPS) was launched at Urban Haat, Dimapur on February 15.

The expo is organized by the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Nagaland, and funded by the Ministry of Textiles.

The Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan inaugurated the special expo.

Altogether 30 stalls have been set up to showcase various handloom products from different tribes.

The handloom expo will conclude on 28th February.

Polling in 102 parliamentary seats across 21 states and Union Territories in the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections commenced at 7 am on April 19 and ended at 6 pm. Over 102 parliamentary constituencies in 21 states and union territories headed to the polling booth on Friday, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
