Watch: Indo-China war hero now forced to drive auto rickshaw in Hyderabad

An ex-serviceman, who was a star medal awardee during the India-China war, now drives an autorickshaw in Hyderabad for a living.

Sheikh Abdul Kareem, participated in the India-China war and was posted in Lahaul area.

He has now urged the government to provide a house to ex-servicemen who fought to defend the country.

‘Despite winning a good service medal, I have not even received any sort of pension or any financial support from the government.

I also request the central government to financially support ex-servicemen who are in need of help,’ Kareem said.

Hyderabad magician travels blindfolded to spread awareness on Covid, road safety

A Hyderabad-based magician has been travelling blindfolded to spread awareness among people. The 45-year-old is spreading awareness on Covid-19 norms, plastic-free environment and road safety. Kick-starting 'Bharat Sandesh Yatra', Ram Krishna has travelled to 11 states on his bike. After his halt in Agra, Krishna's upcoming destination is the national capital. “I began the 'Bharat Sandesh Yatra 2021' from Hyderabad's Charminar on March 19. The yatra aims at corona awareness, plastic-free environment and road safety. I came to Agra from Jaipur and now I will be travelling to Delhi,” he said. Ram Krishna's goal through 'Bharat Sandesh Yatra' is to travel 10,000 kms in 30 days.

Cold conditions had returned with fresh spell of rain and snow in North hill state of Himachal Pradesh. Different regions including Lahaul-Spiti, Kullu and Shimla received heavy to moderate rain and snow in higher reaches of the state. "Different parts of the state had received heavy to moderate rain and snowfall in higher reaches of the state. The Lahaul-Spiti and parts of Kullu district had received light to moderate fresh snowfall and other parts of state had received rain. Manali had also recorded 30 mm rain during past 24 hours. The forecast would remain same for next two days. Heavy rainfall warning had already been issued for other districts.The temperature would go down by 4 to 6 degree celsius in the region. The sky would get clear by March 24," IMD Director Manmohan Singh said. Nisha, a tourist from, Delhi said that Delhi is experiencing terrible heat and here it's feeling like one will get freezed; yesterday it was normal weather here but it's been raining from morning today. "I have come here with my family for 2-3 vacations and it's been getting tough for us to wander in the rain so we have to plan accordingly," said Mohan, who came to Shimla on vacation.
