Runners complete Kanyakumari to Kashmir marathon to spread health awareness

In order to encourage youth to opt for a healthy lifestyle, two runners, Ram Rattan and Sanjay Kumar took up a marathon from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.

Runners covered a distance of 4268 km within 53 days and covered 11 states, 91 cities and 1000 plus villages.

The main motive behind their long run was to motivate youth to take out time from their mundane lives and focus on fitness.

Indian Army sport-person started on a mission to run 4,000 kms. Velu P set to run from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in 50 days. The athlete kicked off his run from Srinagar on Thursday. "My target is to finish within 50 days. My motto is for 'green awareness' and 'one nation one spirit. I am dedicating this run to my teammate who passed away," he said. The Indian Army flagged off his run from Srinagar on Thursday. The athlete aims to reach Kanyakumari via Delhi, Indore, Mumbai, Bangalore. An Indian army official said, "I got a chance to meet him and speak with him. I hope that he achieves not just this but all missions in his life. I hope others also get inspiration from this."

Indian Army athlete Velu P, an athlete is on a mission to spread the message for 'Green India'. Velu will run 4,000 kilometers from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in just 50 days. The Indian Army flagged off his journey from Srinagar. From Srinagar he will pass Delhi, Bombay, Indore, Bangalore and Kanyakumari. "My target is 50 days but I want finish it in 46-47 days. My message is 'Green Awareness' and 'Oneness and One Spirit'. This run is also for a friend from India team who passed away" said Velu P.
