Air Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari will take over as Chief of Air Staff after the retirement of Air Chief Marshal R K S Bhadauria on September 30.
He was serving as commander-in-chief of the Western Air Command (WAC) that looks after the security of Indian air space in the sensitive Ladakh sector as well as various other parts of north India.
On March 24, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) welcomed former Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria (Retd) into its fold at the party headquarters in New Delhi. Joining him was Varaprasad Rao, a former Member of Parliament from Tirupati, marking a significant addition to the party's ranks.
Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, Bhadauria's entry into the BJP has sparked speculation about his potential candidacy in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
