Residents furious as fences appear around homes in Covid-hit Shanghai

Officials in Shanghai have started installing green fences around buildings as the city faces its worst Covid surge to date.

Although there is no official explanation for the barriers it is believed they are intended to prevent people from entering or leaving "sealed areas".

Residents in the 28 million-strong city are angry with the government, some saying they don't have proper access to food and medical supplies.
