‘We always need to get value for taxpayer’s money', says PM

Prime Minister Liz Truss says it is “absolutely right that we always need to get value for taxpayer’s money”.

The PM makes the comments as she defends the government’s mini-budget announcement which has sent ripples across the markets.

She adds: “Every pound that we take from somebody is a pound they can be spending on their future, so it’s right that we get value for money and I’m always making sure that we deliver that.” Report by Patelr.
