BoE governor sees 'signs that we’re beginning to turn corner’
Governor of the Bank of England, Andrew Bailey, says he "sees the signs that we're beginning to turn the corner", when asked whether he thinks he has done enough to "tame inflation".
His comments come after the Bank has once again pushed up interest rates, in what is the tenth hike in a row.

Andrew Bailey says he is "very pleased" that the UK and the US have reached a trade deal agreement. But the governor of the Bank of England adds the deal will become much more important "if it becomes the trendsetter" for agreements involving the rest of the world. Steve Rotheram has paid tribute to "family man" Diogo Jota, who has died in a car accident aged 28 in the Spanish province of Zamora. The mayor of Liverpool City Region shared his "devastation" at the news adding, "it's a loss to football and it's a loss to Liverpool Football Club, but it's an unbelievable loss to his family". Tributes have poured in for Liverpool and Portugal forward Diogo Jota who has died in a car crash in Spain. The 28-year-old and his younger brother André Silva were both killed in the accident on the A-52 motorway in Zamora.
