NBC reports that President Joe Biden said that he
had been in contact with officials in impacted
states, including Illinois, Indiana and Delaware.
According to a statement from Biden released
on April 2, his administration has been directed , "to help with immediate needs
and long-term rebuilding.".

NBC reports that 13 people were killed in
Tennessee after an EF-2 tornado hit
Wayne, Lewis, McNairy and Hardin counties.
According to McNairy County Sheriff Guy Buck,
nine of the deaths occurred in buildings that
were destroyed down to their foundations.
Buck said that a tornado that crossed the entire county
remained on the ground for more than 30 miles, resulting in , "every kind of damage imaginable.".
