Ukraine war: Mines and mud slow troops as Russia continues assault on Bakhmut
Kremlin-affiliated mil bloggers claim that Russian forces are attempting to advance towards Stupochky, some 14 km southwest of Bakhmut, while Wagner Group forces continue to attack Ukrainian forces from their central, southern, and northern positions around Bakhmut.
Chasiv Yar, just ten kilometres west of Bakhmut, is widely seen as Russia’s next target on the Ukrainian frontlines. Analysts say Moscow is trying to push home its advantage before fresh US aid can make a difference. DW’s Nick Connolly sends us this report from the outskirts of Chasiv Yar.
