Suella Braverman joined Nottinghamshireâs Police and Crime Commissioner Caroline Henry to lay a wreath among the flowers left outside the cityâs Council House.

The Court of Appeal has refused to change the sentence of Valdo Calocane, who killed three people in Nottingham last summer. Dr Sanjoy Kumar and Dr Sinead OâMalley, the parents of Grace OâMalley-Kumar, attended the hearing. Speaking outside the Royal Courts of Justice following the decision, Dr Kumar said: "The Attorney Generalâs case has not been successful. This is disappointing, but not unexpected." Giving their judgment, the Lady Chief Justice Baroness Carr said: âThere was no error in the approach adopted by the judge. âThe sentences imposed were not arguably unduly lenient.â She concluded: âIt is impossible to read of the circumstances of this offending without the greatest possible sympathy for the victims of these terrible attacks, and their family and friends." The parents of Grace OâMalley-Kumar have blamed âfailingsâ in the system for a series of stabbing attacks, including a sword attack in Hainault on Tuesday and a school stabbing in Sheffield on Wednesday. Graceâs father, Dr Sanjoy Kumar, said âpositive change is so long overdueâ after a 14-year-old boy was killed in Hainault and three teenage boys were admitted to hospital in Sheffield following the attacks.
