At least eight lives were lost and several people were injured, including 10 police personnel, across the country, during the 'tazia' Muharram procession-related incidents last evening.
Chaos had erupted in Delhi's Nangloi during the Muharram procession yesterday evening after a group led by one of the organisers of the Tazia was denied permission to deviate from the designated route of the procession.
The situation escalated, leading to clashes with the police and resulting in nearly a dozen police personnel being injured in the line of duty
