PSNI apologises after leak identifies thousands of officers

The Police Service of Northern Ireland has apologised after an accidental leak revealed a huge tranche of names, ranks and serial numbers of its officers.

After receiving a Freedom of Information request, the force published a spreadsheet containing statistical information on the strength of the PSNI - but a second tab in the document contained entries of more than 10,000 officers and staff members.
