Madurai Railway Station Fire: At least 10 dead; ₹10 lakh ex-gratia for their families |Oneindia News
At least 10 people died after a fire that broke out inside a stationary train compartment at Madurai railway station in the early hours of Saturday.
The Southern Railway said that an ‘illegal gas cylinder’ caused the fire.
Southern Railway said that an ex-gratia of ₹10 lakh has been announced to the family of the deceased.
Madurai District Collector MS Sangeetha said that 55 people have been rescued.
