Situation in Israel 'Very Intense & Scary' Indian Students share experiences | OneIndia News
Indian students stuck in Israel amid the Hamas militant group attacks on the country shared their plight even as the Indian embassies in Israel and Palestine issued advisories for all its citizens to "remain vigilant".
According to the students, while they are in constant touch with the Indian embassy, they feel extremely nervous and scared as the situation is "very tense".
In a significant political challenge to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant urged Netanyahu to make difficult decisions for non-Hamas governance in Gaza, warning that the current war gains are at risk and Israel's long-term security is endangered. Gallant strongly opposed Israeli civil or military rule in Gaza, advocating instead for governance by non-Hamas Palestinian entities with international support. He stressed the urgent need for a viable alternative to Hamas to prevent the group from regrouping and undermining Israel's military achievements. Gallant called for Netanyahu to publicly reject the idea of continued Israeli control in Gaza, warning that indecision could lead to detrimental options: continued Hamas rule or Israeli military governance. He emphasised the importance of political action alongside military efforts and the critical role of all government departments in achieving this goal.
