Most folks who run the first time for school board in their district, have no idea how the school is run from the board.
They often "assume" they will have 1/7 of the say in all decisions and that they will have an opportunity to express their point of view and be able to debate topics relevant to the school in the meetings.
Sometimes they even think they will be able to participate in public meetings apart from the school board to talk to their constituents about issues that effect the school.
This is not true in most cases.
The school board should be known as the school "Borg."
