Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has sparked political shockwaves by refusing to sign the EU’s joint statement backing Ukraine, issued just days before the upcoming Trump–Putin meeting in Alaska. The statement, agreed upon by other EU leaders, emphasized that international borders cannot be changed by force and that peace in Ukraine must include Ukraine’s voice.
