Steve Reed defends government amid farm tax protest
Steve Reed has defended the government's decision to introduce inheritance tax on farms worth over £1 million.
The environment secretary said Labour's Inheritance Tax plans became necessary because of the '£22 billion black hole' in the public finances they allegedly inherited from the previous government.

Environment Secretary Steve Reed has warned the nationalisation would cost £100 billion and slow down efforts to cut pollution. Mr Reed said it was not the answer, adding: “It would involve years of legal wrangles and during that that time, there would be no investments into upgrading our sewage and water pipes.''
