Minister admits winter fuel cut was a 'tough call'

The energy minister has admitted the winter fuel payment cut was a "tough call" by the chancellor.

Miatta Fahnbulleh urged pensioners struggling with their energy bills to get in touch with their suppliers.

"We announced yesterday that there will be £500 million worth of support available to people this winter.

I know people are worried about their energy bills this winter - please pick up the phone and speak to your supplier," she said.
