The tragedy comes just days after Beirut announced a plan to disarm Hezbollah by yearâs end under heavy U.S. pressure, a move strongly opposed by both Hezbollah and Iran.
UN peacekeepers recently uncovered fortified tunnels and large weapons caches in the same area.
