The infamous Sednaya Prison near Damascus became a site of emotional reunions and frantic searches as rebel forces stormed the facility, freeing all detainees.
Videos captured teary-eyed families rushing to the prison gates, anxiously flipping through records, and speaking to authorities in hopes of locating their long-detained relatives.

During his visit to Saudi Arabia, President Trump met with Syria’s new leader, Ahmed al-Sharaa, marking the first such meeting in 25 years. Trump urged Syria to join the Abraham Accords with Israel, expel foreign militants, and take control of ISIS camps run by Kurdish forces. In return, Trump announced the lifting of crippling U.S. sanctions, offering Syria a chance at economic recovery.
