Kumbh 2025: Preparations for the Kumbh Mela at Qila Ghat, near the confluence of the Ganga and Yamuna, are in full swing.
Authorities are reinforcing riverbanks with sandbagging to prevent erosion, ensuring safety for pilgrims. Police and NDRF teams are actively deployed to manage crowd control and emergencies, maintaining a strict vigil.
Infrastructure upgrades and sanitation measures are also being prioritized to accommodate the large influx of devotees.

In a tragic crash near Kedarnath, an Aryan Aviation chopper carrying seven people—including a 23-month-old child and the pilot—plunged into a forest between Gaurikund and Sonprayag. All aboard were charred to death. The crash occurred during bad weather at 5:20 am. Victims include a temple committee employee, a Maharashtra family, and pilgrims from UP. The pilot attempted to steer out of the valley before the crash. NDRF, SDRF rushed for recovery. Helicopter services are suspended. A DNA test will be conducted before bodies are handed over to families.
