Chris Philp supports calls for 'Prevent' inquiry

Chris Philp has supported calls for a public inquiry into the anti-terror programme 'Prevent'.

It comes as the daughter of the late Sir David Amess, a Conservative MP who was murdered during a constitutency surgery in 2021, said she believes the Southport attacks may not have happened if there had been a full public inquiry into her father's death three years ago.

Mr Philp said: "I think we do need a proper inquiry to look at these systemic issues where Prevent or mental health services have failed to take dangerous people off the streets." Report by Kennedyl.
