‘False Hope’: Ukraine's Frontline Medics Slam U.S. Russia Peace Talks as War Enters 3rd Year
On the third anniversary of Russias full scale invasion of Ukraine, frontline medics Vladyslav and Anastasia Chumachenko reject the idea that peace talks between the U.S. and Russia will bring lasting peace.
They warn that any agreement could lead to another attack, as history has shown that pauses in conflict are never permanent.
While world leaders discuss negotiations, those on the ground continue to prepare for the next stage of war, believing Russia will not stop until Ukraine is completely subdued.
Russian fiber-optic drones from the elite Bars-27 detachment have struck a key Ukrainian UAV control center in a high-precision operation. According to Russia’s Ministry of Defense, the strike followed the downing of a Ukrainian DJI Matrice 30 reconnaissance drone, which revealed the enemy's launch position.
In a follow-up mission, the same unit neutralized a concealed Ukrainian mortar site near Kramatorsk. The dual strikes were part of Battlegroup South's broader effort to degrade Ukraine’s surveillance and artillery coordination.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed a high-level defense strategy meeting, calling for cutting-edge military technology to not only match but outpace Western capabilities—especially in drone warfare, air defense, and missile systems.
This comes amid rising battlefield innovation and a new arms race shaping the future of war in Eastern Europe.

Ukraine and Russia carried out another exchange of prisoners of war as agreed in the 2 June Istanbul talks. Kyiv has not revealed how many Ukrainian defenders have been exchanged at each stage, saying only that the Thursday swap focused on severely wounded soldiers.
