Search called off for crew member in cargo ship crash

The search for a missing crew member of a cargo ship that collided with an oil tanker in the North Sea has been called off as fires aboard continued to burn overnight, according to the coastguard.

A Portuguese-registered container ship, Solong, collided with the anchored tanker Stena Immaculate near Hull just before 10 am on Monday, triggering “multiple explosions” and releasing jet fuel into the water.
