According to preliminary reports, there are Two survivors.
The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, carrying 230 passengers and 12 crew members, went down near the airport moments after departure.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but officials now confirm the worst.

A Wall Street Journal report claims a cockpit recording reveals the captain cut off the aircraft’s fuel midair, moments after takeoff. The first officer, reportedly panicked, questioned the captain’s move, as per the leaked cockpit transcript. Both pilots, Captain Sumeet Sabharwal and First Officer Clive Kunder, were killed along with 240 others onboard and 19 on the ground—only one person survived. While the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau's (AIIB) preliminary report confirms both fuel switches were turned off within a second, it doesn’t state whether the action was accidental or deliberate. The aircraft was airborne for just 32 seconds before slamming into buildings near BJ Medical College. Crucially, cockpit recordings capture a moment of confusion: one pilot asks, “Why did you cut off?” to which the other replies, “I didn’t.” Investigators found both fuel control switches had flipped from ‘RUN’ to ‘CUTOFF’, triggering total engine failure.
