Iran holds state funeral for military leaders and nuclear scientists killed in Israel conflict

In a stunning rebuke to Israeli and Western media claims, senior Iranian officials Ali Shamkhani and Esmail Qaani — both previously reported 'assassinated' in Israeli airstrikes — appeared alive and defiant in Tehran today. Shamkhani, advisor to Ayatollah Khamenei, and Qaani, commander of the IRGC Quds Force, joined thousands in a grand funeral procession for those martyred in the 12-day Israeli and U.S. aggression against Iran. Their public appearance has sent shockwaves through global media, especially as Press TV footage shows Shamkhani walking, despite reports of severe injuries.
Iran’s leadership used the event to reaffirm unity, resilience, and continued resistance against foreign attacks. Tehran has vowed retaliation, calling the aggression a failed attempt to demoralize the Iranian people. The funeral was also attended by senior IRGC officials and clerics, further cementing Iran’s defiance in the face of military and media warfare.
