Donald Trump called Elon Musk a “wonderful guy” even after the Tesla CEO publicly criticized his $3.3 trillion tax and spending bill, slammed the $5 trillion debt ceiling hike, and even linked Trump to Epstein in a now-deleted X post.
Despite this, Trump maintained Musk was just “upset” about his rollback of electric vehicle (EV) mandates.
The falling-out follows Musk’s resignation as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and a series of harsh tweets calling the bill “insane” and “job-killing.” Still, Trump praised Musk’s intellect and past campaign support, indicating the door isn’t closed.
Meanwhile, the Senate narrowly advanced the bill despite growing concerns over ballooning national debt and renewable energy cuts.
