Diddy Denied Bail After Cassie Ventura’s Legal Team Urges Court to Keep Him in Custody

Sean “Diddy” Combs was acquitted of the most serious charges in his federal trial—sex trafficking and racketeering—but found guilty on two counts of transportation for prostitution under the Mann Act.

While similar in nature, experts note the key legal difference is that trafficking requires proof of force, fraud, or coercion, while the Mann Act only requires proof of knowing interstate transport for illegal sex work.

Each count carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.

Following the verdict, Cassie Ventura’s legal team issued a statement crediting her 2023 civil complaint as the catalyst for the criminal case and urged the court to deny Combs’ release before sentencing.

The court ultimately agreed, denying bail and citing his continued danger to victims and disregard for the law.

Combs is now set to remain in custody until sentencing, which is currently scheduled for October 3.
