Yemeni state TV has officially confirmed the death of Prime Minister Ahmed Al-Rahawi, declaring him a âmartyrâ after an Israeli airstrike on Sanaâa. The presidency of Yemenâs Houthi-led government said the prime minister and several ministers were killed during a routine government workshop on August 28. For days, Houthis had denied Israeli claims of assassinating Al-Rahawi, accusing Tel Aviv of targeting only civilians. The announcement comes after weeks of escalating Israeli strikes on Yemen, launched in response to Houthi missile and drone attacks against Israel and Western ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. Thursdayâs deadly attack followed earlier Israeli bombardments that killed 10 people and injured over 90. Despite the assassination, the Houthis vowed to continue military operations in solidarity with Palestinians and Hamas in Gaza, warning that Israelâs aggression will not deter their campaign.

Hamas has issued a chilling warning that Israeli troops will be killed or captured if Israel pushes deeper into Gaza City. Abu Obeida, the spokesperson of Hamasâs al-Qassam Brigades, declared that occupying Gaza City would âcost the enemy in the blood of its soldiersâ and increase the number of captives. Hours later, Hamas fighters ambushed Israeli forces in Gazaâs Zaytoun neighborhood, killing at least one soldier, wounding nine, and reportedly capturing four. The Israeli military confirmed it has begun the âinitial stagesâ of occupying Gaza City, declaring it a combat zone. Experts call the ambush a major setback for Israelâs military campaign, as heavy clashes rage and helicopters evacuate wounded troops. Since October 7, Israelâs war has killed over 63,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children. The UN warns that seizing Gaza City could displace nearly one million civilians, further deepening the humanitarian catastrophe.

A U.S. missile cruiser has crossed the Panama Canal, heading toward the Caribbean in what many fear is a prelude to a wider conflict with Venezuela. The USS Lake Erie entered the canal late Friday night and began its eight-hour journey toward the Atlantic, joining a massive U.S. naval deployment near Venezuelan waters. Washington has already stationed eight warships, thousands of Marines, and even a nuclear submarine close to Venezuelaâs coast. While U.S. officials claim the mission is aimed at combating drug cartels, critics say the overwhelming firepower suggests a hidden regime change agenda. Venezuelan President NicolĂĄs Maduro has defiantly warned that the United States cannot invade his country, mobilizing 15,000 troops, drones, and naval assets in response. Caracasâs UN envoy mocked Washington, declaring: âNo one fights drug cartels with nuclear submarines.â With the U.S. doubling its bounty on Maduro to $50 million, tensions are nearing breaking point.

Venezuelan President NicolĂĄs Maduro has defiantly declared that the United States cannot invade his country, even as Washington intensifies its military buildup in the Caribbean. The U.S. Navy has deployed eight warships, thousands of marines, and even a nuclear submarine close to Venezuelaâs waters, sparking fears of a wider conflict. In response, Caracas has mobilized 15,000 troops, drones, and warships to reinforce security along the Colombia border. While U.S. officials insist the deployment is aimed at combating drug cartels, critics argue the scale of the operation points to a regime change agenda. Venezuelaâs ambassador to the UN ridiculed the move, saying âno one fights drug cartels with nuclear submarines.â Meanwhile, Washington doubled its bounty on Maduro to $50 million, intensifying the pressure. Maduro insists Venezuela is stronger than ever and ready to confront what he calls an imperialist threat to sovereignty and peace.
