BREAKING: Massive landslides in Sudan Kill over 1,000 as entire village flattened in Darfur region

A catastrophic landslide in Sudan’s Marra Mountains has killed more than 1,000 people, flattening the village of Tarasin in the war-torn Darfur region.

Triggered by days of heavy rain, the landslide wiped out homes, farms, and entire families, leaving only one known survivor.

The Sudan Liberation Movement described the community as “leveled,” calling for urgent UN intervention.

Rescue efforts remain severely hampered by conflict and blocked access routes, raising fears that the death toll could rise in one of Sudan’s deadliest disasters.
