For advising on a $64bn merger deal, bankers get a 0.0002% fee

The $64bn merger of two Indian lenders, completed in August, has generated just over $1m in fees for 18 advisers, according to sources who revealed that just two of the advisers, Morgan Stanley and Bank of America, would benefit significantly from the tie-up. Several of the advisory firms learned only a day before the announcement that the merger was taking place, the sources said.
